March 21th

On 21th of March president od Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis and representatives from various institutions like The Swiss Embassy in Poland, The Swiss Humanitarian Aid, the Marshal’s Office and NGOs visited our logistic centre at Modern Expo. During the visitation we had also the privilege of hosting the Mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof Żuk and the Governor of Lublin, Lech Sprawka. The main topic of discussion was the scope of humanitarian support for the areas affected by the war conflict. Aid flowing from Switzerland amounts to over 5 million Swiss francs so far. The convoys (13 trucks) have been equipped with medicines, medical devices, operating room equipment and personal protection items such as gloves and outfits for surgeons.
During the discussion important declarations have been made to our friends from across the eastern border: the help so far was only the beginning of Swiss suport. The president informed that Swiss Parliament has approved funding of 18 million francs.

2022

March 20th

Thanks to the funds raised through our initiative, we purchased 186 stretchers, as well as thermo-active clothing and underwear. The stretcher is an essential element in medical rescue. Thanks to the fact that they are light – they do not contain metal elements – they can fit into every paramedic’s rucksack. With them, he can reach the most inaccessible places such as rubble or the surroundings where bombs have fallen.

2022

March 19th

Last week we were visited by doctors from the non-profit  organisation MedGlobal. Their activities focus on communities affected by crisis: they train medical staff and volunteers, provide access to medical equipment and medicines, and are active in bringing medical aid to areas affected by humanitarian tragedy.
Together with Modern-Expo staff – volunteers of the Together with Ukraine initiative, we discussed the scope of necessary medical assistance in Ukraine looking for ways to start effective cooperation.

2022

March 18th

Thanks to the support of the inhabitants of the German city of Münster, we have delivered long-term food to war zones. Several trucks with tinned foods, rusks, biscuits, water, juices, soups and instant meals have already reached people in need.

One of the most essential medical supplies during ongoing military attacks are tourniquets. The ones with extra pressure can stop bleeding in seconds. It takes much less than that to apply such a tourniquet to an injured limb on your own, even with just one hand. Thanks to funds raised by @Modern Expo staff, tactical armbands were purchased for soldiers fighting on the frontline. The larger purchase of these medical supplies was possible with the money raised during our collection. The armbands have already arrived in Ukraine.
